Home health skills training
Creative Director and Project Manager
As MedBridge expanded into the Home Health market, we needed to create a new content type that met the specific needs of learners in this setting. Onboarding new staff into Home Health requires nurses to be deemed competent in a number of specific procedures. To support this process, we needed to combine video and written content to create a short, engaging learning object that teaches nurses a specific procedure.
The cornerstone of this learning object were short format videos, filmed in studio to show the specifics of a procedure. The live action video was accompanied by a new motion graphic treatment that clearly and concisely explains each step of a process.
As creative director, I prepared a creative brief and prototype to share with our designers and videographers, who then created new graphic templates and filming guidelines. I reviewed these and provided feedback until we landed on our final treatment.
I also project managed the creation of our initial content offering, overseeing the production of 6 courses while managing timelines and budgets and ensuring we met the needs of clients and in this setting.
In addition, I wrote a prototype script, which was then provided to our subject matter experts to inform their content development. I also edited scripts provided by our subject experts to ensure quality and consistency.
To accompany these videos, we also created text-based learning objects to provide learners with an at-a-glance reference for the most important aspects of a procedures. Content of this type had never been added to the MedBridge course catalog, so I worked closely with a developer to update our platform to support this content, providing direction on updating the CSS within our platform to support more engaging text-based content. I then needed to train other team members on how to add this content to our platform using HTML.
